Obtain a Lost or Forgotten Yabancı Kimlik Number
If you’ve lost or forgotten your Yabancı Kimlik Numarası (YKN) (Foreigner Identification Number), don’t worry — there are several official ways to retrieve it depending on your situation.
Your YKN is issued by the Göç İdaresi Başkanlığı (Directorate General of Migration Management) and is essential for residence permits, healthcare, banking, tax, utilities, and government services.Check Your Official Documents First
Your YKN appears on:
Residence Permit Card (İkamet Kartı)
Work Permit Card
Old application forms
Health insurance policies
Turkish bank account documents
E-Devlet records
If you still have your residence card, your YKN is printed on the front of the card.Retrieve via e-Devlet (If You Have Access)

Mobile signature
Internet banking login
Your YKN appears in:
Profile information
Residence permit services
Migration services section
Note: If you cannot log in because you forgot your password, you can reset it at a PTT branch with your passport.Visit the Provincial Migration Office (Göç Office)
Visit your local Provincial Directorate of Migration Management (İl Göç İdaresi).
Bring:
Your passport
Residence permit card (if available)
Any previous application reference number

You only receive a YKN if you have:
Applied for a residence permit
Been issued a work permit
Registered legally with Turkish authorities
If you have just arrived in Turkey, you must first apply for a residence permit via the official Migration Management system.Important Notes
Your YKN is an 11-digit number starting with 99.
It remains the same throughout your legal stay.
It is different from a Turkish citizen’s T.C. Kimlik number.
