      Short-Term Residency

Disclaimer: The rules for Residency Permits changes regularly. We will try to keep this information up to date, but we recommend checking the latest requirements on the Government Application Website.

Click to open The Residency Permit Application website

Click to find out what the required documents are.

Where applicable ensure you have all the required documentation and apostils before making a Residence Permit Application:

      • Bank Statements must cover at least the last 3 months of account statements. Each page must be stamped and signed by your bank
      • A Foreign Pension or Foreign Income Certification Letter must be stamped/signed by the issuing authority and where possible apostilled in the country of issue
      • Turkish Bank Account must show the deposit of sufficient funds into a Turkish bank account, this will usually be 1.5 times the minimum wage in most cases
      • A Marriage Certificate which must be apostilled in the country it was issued
For Family Residence Applications the Birth certificates for children under 18 years old must be apostilled

NOTE: Non-Turkish citizens intending to stay in Turkey more than 90 days in every 180 day (Covered by the Tourist Visa), must obtain a short-term residence permit.

I was informed today, that no RP will be issued for first time application if you are not retired , unless you have a home., is it the same in other areas?

Good news for the over 60 year olds.

No proof of income is required.

Under 60 Bank deposits still required.

Married couple’s ,spouses, if one is over 60.

You need marriage certificate apostilled . Then neither need proof of income.

But please check at your local office, before submitting your application, not all areas are up to date. This is new.
