Extract:
Electricity Prices Rise
Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) has announced a significant increase in electricity and natural gas prices, effective as of April 3. The decision comes amid rising production and distribution costs, putting additional pressure on households.

According to the official statement, residential electricity prices have increased by 25%. Other groups were affected differently, with public and private service sectors seeing a 17.5% rise, industrial users 5.8%, and agricultural users 24.8%.

With this adjustment, a household consuming 100 kilowatt-hours of electricity will now pay approximately 323.8 Turkish lira.

Natural Gas Prices Also Rise

Alongside electricity, natural gas prices have also been increased. Based on updated wholesale tariffs published by BOTAŞ, residential consumers are facing an average 25% increase. Industrial users are seeing a 18.61% rise, while gas used for electricity generation has gone up by 19.42%.
