Certain groups are exempt from paying property tax under Turkish law. These include:
  • Retirees who own only one residence with a gross area not exceeding 200 square meters
  • Recipients of survivor’s pensions (widows and orphans)
  • Unemployed individuals and homemakers who can document that they have no income
  • Disabled citizens and military veterans
  • Families of fallen soldiers (spouses and children) and recipients of disability pensions related to public service

Property owners wishing to benefit from these exemptions must apply to their local municipality and submit the required documentation.
