Requirements for SGK Healthcare Membership

      Firstly the applicant must possess a valid Turkish residency permit.

      Secondly the applicant must have held a Turkish residence permit for a minimum of one full year.

      In order to start your application to become a member of the SGK Healthcare system you will need to visit your local SGK office and inform them you wish to become a member of the SGK Healthcare system.

      They will then inform you of what steps you need to take and where to go to complete those steps.

      Medical reports for foreigners must now be completed at University hospitals within your province, they can not be completed at a Devlet (government) hospital.

      Note: You must declare any pre-existing conditions during the medicals.

      As a general rule (although this can vary) these are the basic requirements:

      • A full medical report from your University Hospital (In turkish Heyet Raporu) will involve visiting approximately 8 doctors
      • ECG
      • Chest Xray
      • 3 phials of blood
      • Urine test
      • Eye test
      • Residence permit
      • A valid passport
      • If joining as a couple, a translated and notarised copy of your marriage certificate
      • If children are to be included you will need a translated birth certificates for your children

      Once the medical tests are complete and you have the required paperwork (translated and notarised as required) return to your local SGK office with them and they will complete the membership process.
